The Hollywood Reporter writes that Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) will direct NAPOLEON, Warner Bros. upcoming biopic on the French conqueror.

Sanders will direct from a script by Jeremy Doner (The Killing). Gianni Nunari (300) is producing.

Napoleon Bonaparte was Emperor of France from 1804 to 1815. Considered one of the greatest military leaders in history, Napoleon's participation in the Napoleonic Wars won him control over most of continental Europe. But the Grande Armee's invasion of Russia in 1812 was Napoleon's eventual undoing. The campaign left the army battered, and in 1814, the Coalition forced Napoleon into exile in Elba. He escaped and returned to power that same year but was defeated in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.

No word yet on who will play the military leader.

Sanders' other upcoming projects include 90 Church with Joe Roth at Universal and an adaptation of the novel The Kill List. He got his start directing commercials for companies such as Axe, Nick, Guinness, DirecTV, Adidas, Gatorade, Absolut and more.
