It's already been a huge year for Rita. She's made her way back onto the airwaves with the release of her new hit, "Your Song," she's also collaborated with Avicii on the chart-topper "Lonely Together" and debuted a new song, "Girls," with her friend Charli XCX and RAYE. She also stars in the newest installment of the Fifty Shades trilogy, FIFTY SHADES FREED.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Reynolds has previously signed on to the cast of the live-action POKEMON movie in the starring role of Detective Pikachu. He joins previously announced cast members Justice Smith and Kathryn Newton on the project.
Rob Letterman will helm the film which will begin shooting in London this January.

Pokemon originally launched with a video game that became a card-collecting, TV and movie franchise phenomenon. Players compete in tournaments after collecting cute but powerful monsters called Pokemon. Reynold's Detective Pikachu is described as "a peculiar sort from the Pikachu set, a self-styled investigator who is good at finding things."

In the live-action film, Smith's character's father is kidnapped, resulting in the teen joining forces with Pikachu in order to find him.

Reynolds is well known for his portrayal of various comic book characters including Marvel Comics superheroes HANNIBAL King in Blade: Trinity (2004), and Wade Wilson / Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and Deadpool (2016); the latter of which earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination.

Additionally, he portrayed the Hal Jordan incarnation of the DC Comics superhero Green Lantern in the 2011 film of the same name. Reynolds has also starred in films such as National Lampoon's Van Wilder (2002), The Amityville Horror (2005), Definitely, Maybe (2008), The Proposal (2009), Buried(2010), The Croods (2013), The Voices (2014), Mississippi Grind (2015) and Woman in Gold (2015).
