As first reported on Deadline.com, Reese Witherspoon is set to star in Bryan Buckley's MEN ARE FROM MARS, WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS, coming from Lionsgate Summit. The film is based on the best selling self-help book from John Gray.

MEN ARE FROM MARS is a guide to relationships and marriage which became one of the best-selling non-fiction hardcover books of all time. Over 7 million copies are currently in circulation. The script for the upcoming film was penned by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont and Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun are set to produce with Andrew Mittman co-producing. Shooting is scheduled to get underway next January.

Witherspoon appeared in the critically acclaimed film Election, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. In 2001 she starred in her breakout role as Elle Woods in the box office hit Legally Blonde, and in 2002 she starred in Sweet Home Alabama, which became her biggest commercial film success to date. 2003 saw her return as lead actress and executive producer of Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde. In 2005, she starred as June Carter Cash in Walk the Line, which earned her an Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
