MSNBC darling Rachel Maddow keeps plenty of television viewers informed, and often entertained, on her nightly program -- just don't expect her to use TV as her own form of entertainment, because the Massachusetts and New York resident has no cable at her home, reports People.com.

Maddow and girlfriend Susan Mikula tell People that they prefer alone time rather than being plugged in while resting at home.

"We realized that the two of us have the TV Disease," Mikula said. "Rachel can't have one because she'd watch it all the time!"

While the happy couple might not flip on Bill O'Reilly or Jon Stewart for kicks each night, Maddow obviously stays abreast of television news as she preps for her political program, which currently brings in about 881,000 national viewers, according to the Boston Herald.

Those numbers are a far cry from network newscasts like NBC's 'Nightly News' (9.92 million), ABC's 'World News' (8.27 million), CBS' 'Evening News' (6.45 million) and even Bill O'Reilly's Fox News program (3.65 million), however, Maddow still manages to beat out CNN's Larry King on a regular basis, per the New York Times.

No word as to what O'Reilly watches at home each night, but perhaps a little more TV at night give Maddow a much needed boost.
