RATINGS: 60 MINUTES is Number One For Second Straight Time

60 MINUTES topped the Nielsen List for the second straight week, drawing 12.6 million viewers to once again land at # 1, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sunday, March 31, 2019. It was the fifth straight week - and the 14th time this season - the CBS News magazine finished among the top five programs.


It was the third time this year 60 MINUTES claimed the top spot on Nielsen's list.

The broadcast has been in Nielsen's Top 10 for 17 out of 22 telecasts this season.

60 MINUTES also made the Top 5 in the key demos again, scoring a 2.7/10 in adults 25-54 good for # 2 and a 2.0/09 in adults 18-49 that also ranked # 2. Compared to last week, 60 MINUTES was up +17 percent in adults 25-54, +25 percent in adults 18-49 and added +2.34 million viewers.

On Sunday's program, Anderson Cooper interviewed a couple who lost a daughter in a mass shooting who now devote their lives to helping other shooting victims. Scott Pelley reported on an ambitious idea to stop global warming by recreating the Ice Age in the Arctic and Bill Whitaker looked at a novel prison program in Connecticut based on the German penal model that's showing signs of success.
