Pierce Brosnan to Visit CBS SUNDAY MORNING, 8/10

Pierce Brosnan to Visit CBS SUNDAY MORNING, 8/10He's known to millions for playing the debonair spy James Bond and for his work on the TV series "Remington Steele," but actor Pierce Brosnan is still in The Hunt for a signature role, he tells Lee Cowan in an interview for CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD to be broadcast August 10, 2014 (9:00 AM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.

"There's still a hunger, there's still a need and a desire to go out there and get better and to find that definitive role where you do, I've nailed it. That's mine. All mine," Brosnan tells Cowan.

Asked if he hadn't found that already, Brosnan says he has, but "you know, it doesn't last long on The Taste buds. You want to do it again."

Brosnan has made seven films in the past two years, the latest "The November Man," which has him playing an aging agent lured back into the CIA.

Cowan visits Brosnan in Kauai, Hawaii, to talk with the actor about his career, his childhood, his family and more.

Brosnan started out on a career path to be a graphic artist, but he found his artistic talents blossomed while acting.

"I wanted to be an actor, and was passionate and needed it in every sense of the word, and was prepared to go to any means to be an actor, to perform, to be an artist," Brosnan says.

That passion was borne out of a challenged childhood first in Ireland and then London where he was "somewhat of an outsider," Brosnan says. Acting, he adds, "made me happy."

CBS SUNDAY MORNING is broadcast Sundays (9:00-10:30 AM ET) on the CBS Television Network. Rand Morrison is the executive producer.
