Stunning sets and costumes from Thor: Ragnarok are revealed in the museum exhibition Marvel: Creating the Cinematic Universe at the Queensland Art Gallery. In addition to several original first run comics (including the first ever appearance ofSpiderman and Iron Man), the exhibition also features over 500 objects, including props, spectacular set design, concept and keyframe art, clips, and over 60 costumes drawn from Marvel¹s extensive archives. Curated by QAGOMA¹s Amanda Slack-Smith, the exhibition gives unprecedented insight into the rich fictional world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Highlights also include: Tony Stark¹s race car from Iron Man 2, Thor¹s hammer, multiple versions of Iron Man¹s armour including the imposing three metre tall Hulkbuster, storyboards and props from Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange and Ant Man, and never-before-seen items from the set of the upcoming film Thor: Ragnarokincluding the majestic Asgardian throne room and Hulk¹s bed, created from a massive skull.

On view through September 2017, this is the first major Marvel exhibition in Australia and the largest ever presented in an art museum worldwide. For more information visit qagoma.qld.gov.au
