EW revealed yesterday a first look at Chadwick Boseman as James Brown in the upcoming biopic, directed by Tate Taylor (The Help). Check it out below!
The movie tells the life story of the 'Godfather of Soul' James Brown (Boseman) and chronicles his rise to fame, his struggles with drug addiction, his arrest for domestic violence and his financial difficulties.
Nick Eversman will play Mick Jagger. Dan Aykroyd will play Ben Bart, president of Universal Attractions, which represented Brown for more than 40 years. Jill Scott will play Brown's wife. Also in the cast are Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Lennie James.
Mick Jagger is co-producing the film with Brian Grazer, Erica Huggins and Victoria Pearman. GET ON UP is set for release on August 1, 2014.
