According to EWonline, actor Philip Seymour Hoffman will star in the adaptation of John le Carre's 2008 thriller novel A MOST WANTED MAN.

The film will be adapted by Andrew Bovell and will be directed by Anton Corbijn. It tells the story of a mysterious Russian man living in Hamburg, Germany who may or may not be a terrorist. Hoffman will portray the head of a German spy unit who is following the Russian to determine his true identity.

Recently, le Carre's novel 'Tinker Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' was adapted for the big screen and has since earned three Academy award nominations. The film has grossed over $61 million worldwide.

Hoffman joined the LAByrinth Theater Company in 1995, and has directed and performed in numerous Off-Broadway productions. His performances in two Broadway plays led to two Tony Award nominations: one for Best Leading Actor in True West (2000), and another for Best Featured Actor in Long Day's Journey into Night (2003).
