Penn, McDormand, et al. to Star in 'This Must Be the Place'

Eve Hewson and Harry Dean Stanton will join the previously reported Sean Penn and Frances McDormand in the upcoming film 'This Must Be the Place,' NBC Chicago reports.

NBC Chicago reports that Variety stated that Penn will play a rock star "who becomes fixated on pursuing the Nazi criminal who tormented his father in a concentration camp."  Hewson is to play a music fan who becomes friends with Penn's character, NBC Chicago reports.  Details of McDormand's and Stanton's roles have not yet been given. 

'This Must Be the Place' is to be written and directed by Paolo Sorrentino and will begin filming in August. 

Sean Penn has appeared on Broadway in SLAB BOYS and HEARTLAND. He has won Academy Awards for his performances in 'Milk' and 'Mystic River.'  His other film credits include 'Sweet and Lowdown,' 'I Am Sam,' 'Dead Man Walking,' and 'The Assassination of Richard Nixon.'

Frances McDormand has appeared on Broadway in GOOD PEOPLE, THE COUNTRY GIRL, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, and AWAKE AND SING!  Her film credits include 'Fargo,' for which she won an Academy Award, as well as "Mississippi Burning,' 'Short Cuts,' 'Wonder Boys,' 'Almost Famous,' and 'North Country.'

Harry Dean Stanton's many screen credits include 'The Godfather Part II,' 'Paris, Texas,' 'The Green Mile,' 'Cool Hand Luke, and 'Pretty in Pink.'

Eve Hewson has previously appeared on screen in 'The 27 Club.'
