Zaptoit.com reports that the Old Navy retail chain will be featuring NATIONAL LAMPOON'S CHRISTMAS VACATION's Griswold Family in their new TV spots. The holiday-themed ads will include actors Chevy Chase, Juliette Lewis, Beverly D'Angelo and other cast members from the classic comedy.

Commenting on the new holiday campaign, Michelle Wlazlo, global senior VP-adult merchandising and licensing and interim chief marketer told Ad Age, "We have a strategy this season to be doing it all the way, larger than life. Gifts all the way; Cheer all the way. When we thought about how we would bring Christmas to our audience with the next round of celebrities, there's no family that's more all the way than the Griswolds."

The first ad to air will see Chase reenacting the classic scene in whicH Clark Griswold attempts to turn on the Griswold family's Christmas lights.

The 1989 Christmas comedy was directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik and was the third installment in National Lampoon's Vacation film series. Writer John Hughes based the movie on his short story in National Lampoon Magazine, Christmas ‘59. The title song was written for the movie by the husband-wife songwriting team of Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil and was performed by Mavis Staples of The Staple Singers fame. Since its release in 1989, Christmas Vacation has received critical acclaim and is often considered a modern holiday classic
