Official: Alden Ehrenreich to Portray Han Solo in Disney's Stand-Alone STAR WARS Film

Deadline confirms reports that Alden Ehrenreich will portray Han Solo in Disney's upcoming stand-alone STAR WARS film.

As of now, no plot details have been revealed as to which aspects of Han Solo's pre-'A New Hope' life will be explored in the movie, expected to be titled 'Han Solo: A Star Wars Story.' The first stand-alone STAR WARS project, Rogue One, is currently in preproduction under directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

Ehrenreich made his feature film debut in Francis Ford Coppola's independent film Tetro (2009) and appeared in Coppola's subsequent film Twixt (2011). In 2013, he appeared in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine, Park Chan-wook's Stoker and starred in Richard LaGravenese's Beautiful Creatures. In 2016, he starred as Hobie Doyle in the Coen brothers comedy Hail, Caesar!.
