OUR TOWN's Michael Shannon Lands Roles in "Machine Gun Preacher' & 'Premium Rush' Films

According to Variety Michael Shannon who recently starred in OUR TOWN at the Barrow Street Theatre is set for two forthcoming films.

Shannon will appear as Delane in 'Machine Gun Preacher,' which also stars Gerard Butler, Michelle Monaghan and Brett Wagner. 'Machine Gun Preacher' is based on the true story of Sam Childers, a former drug-dealing biker tough guy who found God and became a crusader for hundreds of Sudanese children who've been forced to become soldiers.The film is set to be released in 2012.

Shannon will also star in 'Premium Rush' along side Joseph Gordon-Levitt. 'Premium Rush' is an action story set in New York City, where a bike messenger picks up a package at Columbia University and subsequently catches the attention of a dirty cop.The film set to be released in 2011.

Michael Shannon was nominated for an Oscar for his role in 'Revolutionary Road.' Shannon's other film credits include 'Groundhog Day,' 'Hellcab,' 'Bad Boys II,' 'Kangaroo Jack,' 'Let's Go to Prison,' and 'The Runaways.' In the West End Shannon appeared in WOYZECK directed by Sarah Kane. in 2008 Shannon appeared off-Broadway in THE LITTLE FLOWER OF EAST ORANGE.
