NBC's TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON has won the late-night ratings week of April 17-21 in adults 18-49 by a +42% margin over CBS' "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," for "Tonight's" biggest win over a week of "Late Show" originals since January.
Fallon outrated both Colbert and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in every other key ratings demographic - adults, men and women 18-34; men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54, according to "live plus same day" results from Nielsen Media Research. Note that Kimmel aired an encore on Friday.
For the week, "Tonight" averaged a 0.64 rating in adults 18-49, to top Colbert (0.45) by a +42% margin and Kimmel (0.40) by +60%. The 42% margin was "Tonight's" biggest over a week of "Late Show" originals since the week of Jan. 9-13 (+103%).
At 12:35 a.m. ET, a rebroadcast week of "Late Night With Seth Meyers" ranked #1 in every key demographic (including a tie in women 18-34) versus CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden," which aired four originals and a Friday
encore. In their head-to-head half-hour, the "Late Night" encores also beat ABC's "Nightline" in every key category.
"Late Night" outscored "Late Late Show" for the week by a +31% margin in adults 18-49 (0.34 vs. 0.26). In its head-to-head half-hour versus ABC's "Nightline," Meyers' week of encores prevailed by a +44% advantage (0.39 vs. 0.27 from 12:30 to 1 a.m. ET).
