"NBC Nightly News with BrIan Williams" was the most-watched network evening newscast for the week ending December 23, 2012, according to Nielsen Media Research data. The NBC broadcast averaged 9.133 million total viewers, +1,189,000 more than ABC "World News'" 7.944 million, and +2,182,000 more than CBS "Evening News'" 6.951 million.
"NBC Nightly News" Weekly Highlights: Nightly delivered 9.133 million total viewers, +15% (+1,189,000) more than ABC World News and +31% (+2,182,000) more than CBS Evening News. Nightly averaged a 6.1/11 Household rating, ahead of ABC's 5.3/10 and CBS' 4.6/9.Nightly has won for 171 consecutive weeks in total viewers, and in 218 of the past 219 weeks among total viewers.Nightly delivered a 2.0 A25-54 rating, +2 tenths ahead of ABC's 1.8 rating and +4 tenths more than CBS's 1.6 rating.Among A25-54 (000), Nightly averaged 2.397 million viewers, +315,000 viewers ahead of World News' 2.082 million and +542,000 ahead of Evening News' 1.855 million.
Nightly has topped World News in A25-54 (000) for 213 consecutive weeks.Versus the same week last season, Nightly was up +6% in total viewers and in key demo ratings: +5% among Adults 25-54, +10% among Women 25-54, +6% among Men 25-54.
