NBC's DATELINE is Friday's #1 Newsmagazine

On Friday, October 14, 2011 "Dateline" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-34, women 18-34 and women 18-49 (tie) for its second hour from 10-11pm. And, versus the same night last year, "Dateline" was up 25 percent in adults 18-49 and up 16 percent in total viewers according to Nielsen Media Research.

Following are some additional stats:

· Season to date, "Dateline" is up 20 percent versus one year ago in adults 18-49 rating and also up year-to-year in adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and most other key categories.

· Friday's "Dateline" has ranked #1, #2 or tied for #2 in its slot in adults 18-49 each week this season.

· So far this season, "Dateline" is Friday's #1 newsmagazine, out-rating ABC's "20/20" in all key ratings categories -- adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.

· Over the Summer of 2011, Friday's "Dateline NBC' ranked #1 or tied for #1 in adults 18-49 among all non-sports Friday telecasts on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW with 13 of 16 telecasts. And "Dateline" was #1 or tied for #1 in its time period in 18-49 over the summer with 14 of 16 telecasts.

· During the 2010-11 television season, "Dateline" was the #1 Friday newsmagazine in total viewers.

"Dateline" featured the following two stories on Friday, October 14, 2011:
Cristi and Chris Hall who were married for nearly 30 years and had three daughters, had what most people thought was the perfect marriage until Cristi was found dead in the backyard spa. Keith Morrison reported.

And then Dennis Murphy told the story of Dalia and Mike Dippolito and what was supposed to be a story-book marriage and new lease on life. Instead, lust, greed and deceit led to an elaborate murder plot that made reality TV look like a fairytale.
