NBC's AMERICA'S GOT TALENT is Week's #1 Series in Total Viewers & Other Key Measures

NBC has won the week of July 27-Aug. 2 in adults 18-49, delivering eight of the week's top 20 primetime telecasts on the Big 4 networks, including two editions of "America's Got Talent," as well as "American Ninja Warrior," "Last Comic Standing," "Hollywood Game Night," "Running Wild with Bear Grylls" and two telecasts of "Dateline NBC." According to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, NBC averaged a 1.1 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 for the week and 4.8 million viewers overall.

"America's Got Talent" was the week's most-watched telecast, averaging 10.3 million viewers, and also ranked #1 or tied for #1 on those nets in adults 25-54, men 25-54, men 18-49 and kids 2-11.

"American Ninja Warrior" tied "Talent" as the week's #1 primetime telecast on ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX in men 18-49.

In adults 18-49, NBC's top-20 telecasts included Tuesday's "America's Got Talent" (tied for #3), Monday's "American Ninja Warrior" (tied for #5), Wednesday's "Talent" 10thanniversary special (#8), Wednesday's "Last Comic Standing" (tied for #9), Tuesday's "Hollywood Game Night" (tied for #12), Monday's "Running Wild with Bear Grylls" (tied for #12), Friday's "Dateline NBC" (tied for #15) and "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" (tied for #18).

Note that the prior week's July 21 telecast of "America's Got Talent" ranked as that week's top program across all television networks in "live plus three day" Nielsens in both adults 18-49 (2.71 rating) and total viewers (11.944 million).

NBC ranked #1 for the week among the Big 4 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, women 18-49 (tie) and all key adult-male demos.

For the 52-week 2014-15 season to date, NBC ranks #1 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and is #1 or tied for #1 among those nets in men 18-49 and adults and men 18-34.

In total viewers, NBC is #2 for the season, and running within 6% of its year-ago Olympics-boosted average (7.9 million vs. 8.4 million), making this season and last NBC's two top-scoring seasons in total viewers at this point since the 2006-07 season. This is the second year in a row NBC has ranked #2 in total viewers at this point in the season, marking first two times since 2003-04 that NBC has ranked as high as #2 in total viewers at this point.

Primetime averages for the week of July 27-Aug. 2 in adults 18-49 are: NBC, 1.1/4; ABC, 1.0/4; CBS, 0.9/4; Fox, 0.6/2; and CW, 0.3/1. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 5.1 million; NBC, 4.8 million; ABC, 3.9 million; Fox, 2.0 million; and CW, 1.1 million.

"Most current" averages for the 52-week 2014-15 season to date are: NBC, 2.2/7; ABC, 2.0/7; CBS, 2.0/7; Fox, 1.8/6; and CW, 0.7/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 10.0 million; NBC, 7.9 million; ABC, 7.4 million; Fox, 5.4 million; and CW, 1.9 million.

NBC highlights for the week of July 27-Aug. 2:

Monday

"American Ninja Warrior" (1.9/7 in 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) was the #1 telecast of the night on the Big 4 in men 18-49, men 18-34 (tie) and men 25-54. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Ninja" grew by +47% in 18-49 (1.5 to 2.2) and +21% or 1.2 million persons in total viewers (5.5 million to 6.7 million). Summer to date heading into the night, "Ninja" was running up +16% versus one year ago in 18-49 (2.2 vs. 1.7, "most current") and up +27% or 1.5 million persons in total viewers (7.1 million vs. 5.6 million).

"Live Plus Three Day" Ratings: "American Ninja Warrior" grew by +11% in 18-49 rating going from "live plus same day" to "live plus three day" Nielsens (from a 1.88 rating to a 2.11) and by 550,000 viewers overall (from 6.2 million to 6.7 million).

"Live Plus Seven Day" Ratings: "American Ninja Warrior" has grown by +18% in 18-49 rating going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day" ratings (from a 1.90 to a 2.25) and 908,000 viewers overall (6.4 million to 7.3 million).

"Running Wild with Bear Grylls" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) matched its highest rating since Aug. 11, 2014 (1.5), a span covering six episodes, despite this week's "Bachelorette" reunion competition. Week to week, "Running Wild" grew +9% in both 18-49 rating (1.2 vs. 1.1) and total viewers (3.6 million vs. 3.3 million). In the time slot, "Running Wild" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in men 18-49 (tie) and men 25-54. L+3: "Running Wild" increased by +13% in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+3 (1.22 to 1.38). In total viewers, "The Island" grew by 383,000 persons (from 3.6 million to 4.0 million). L+7: "Running Wild" is growing by +20% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.24 to a 1.49) and 691,000 viewers overall (3.7 million to 4.4 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

Tuesday

NBC won Tuesday night among the Big 4 in every key measure with the #1 shows of the night on those nets in all key categories, "America's Got Talent" (2.1/8 in 18-49, 10.3 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET). "Talent" won the time period among the Big 4 in every key measure, delivering a +91% margin in adults 18-49 (2.1 vs. 1.1 for CBS's second-place dramas). L+3: "America's Got Talent" grew by +25% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+3 Nielsens (from a 2.14 rating to a 2.67) and by 1.7 million viewers overall (from 10.3 million to 12.0 million). L+7: "Talent" has grown by +30% in 18-49 rating (from a 2.43 to a 3.17) and 2.2 million viewers overall (10.7 million to 12.9 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

"Hollywood Game Night" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) won the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in all key demos, leading the time period among those nets by a +71% margin in adults 18-49 (1.2 vs. 0.7 for both ABC and CBS in that hour). "Hollywood Game Night" grew week to week by +6% in adults 25-54 (1.7 vs. 1.6), +11% in men 18-49 (1.0 vs. 0.9), +17% in men 18-34 (0.7 vs. 0.6) and +17% in men 25-54 (1.4 vs. 1.2). "Hollywood Game Night" tied as the #2 show of the night in adults 18-49, behind only "Talent." L+3: "HGN" grew by +13% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+3 Nielsens (from a 1.21 rating to a 1.36) and by 441,000 viewers overall (from 4.5 million to 4.9 million). L+7: "HGN" is increasing by an average of +21% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.43 to a 1.73) and 727,000 viewers overall (5.0 million to 5.8 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

Wednesday

NBC won Wednesday night among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in every key measure - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.

"America's Got Talent: 10 Year Anniversary Special" (1.6/6 in 18-49, 7.9 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) won the time period among the Big 4 networks in every key measure and delivered NBC's best 18-49 and total-viewer results in the time period, excluding sports, since April 8."America's Got Talent: 10 Year Anniversary Special" was the #1 show of the night in total viewers. L+3: The "Talent" special grew by +17% going from L+SD to L+3 (1.62 to 1.90) and by 870,000 viewers overall (7.9 million vs. 8.7 million).

"Last Comic Standing 9" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) retained 100% of the prior week's season-premiere rating and equaled the show's top result since May 29, 2014 (1.6). In total viewers, "Last Comic Standing" retained 95% of the previous week's 6.1 million from 9-11(the show's biggest audience since the fifth-cycle finale on Sept. 19, 2007), making this the second-most-watched "Last Comic" since the sixth-cycle premiere on May 22, 2008 (5.9 million). "Last Comic Standing" ranked #1 in the time period among the Big 4 nets in every key measure and was the #2 show of the night in total viewers, behind only "Talent." L+3: "Last Comic Standing" increased by +21% going from L+SD to L+3 (1.45 to 1.75) and by 846,000 viewers overall (5.8 million vs. 6.7 million). L+7: Last summer, "Last Comic Standing" grew by +34% going from L+SD Nielsens to L+7 (1.27 to 1.70) and by 1.1 million viewers overall (4.0 million to 5.1 million).

Thursday

"Food Fighters" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) tied for #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49 and equaled its rating of the prior week, while rising week to week in total viewers by +4% (3.6 million vs. 3.5 million). "Food Fighters" held steady or grew half-hour to half-hour in all key demos. L+7: "Food Fighters" is increasing by +11% in 18-49 rating (from a 0.81 to a 0.90) and 244,000 viewers overall (3.4 million to 3.7 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

"Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) matched NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period since May 28, maintaining 100% of its rating for the prior two weeks. In total viewers, "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" delivered its biggest audience yet among three Thursday telecasts, and generated NBC's top total-viewer result in the time period since May 28. "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" was up +67% versus NBC's summer average in the time period prior to "Dateline Mystery" (1.0 vs. 0.6) and up +92% in total viewers (5.547 million vs. 2.887 million).

For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" won the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, total viewers, adults 25-54 and other key measures. For its full two-hour time period, "Dateline Mystery" finished #1 in total viewers among the Big 4 nets. Upscale: The prior week's "Dateline Mystery" was the top upscale Big 4 telecast of the night among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (with a 130 index, 100 represents an average concentration of those homes).

NBC ranked #2 Thursday night among the Big 4 in every key measure.

Friday

An encore telecast of "America's Got Talent" (0.8/4 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) tied for the #2 rating of the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49 and tied for #1 in the time period on those nets in 18-49 and other key demos. "Talent" matched the show's encore 18-49 ratings in this time period the prior three weeks.

"Dateline NBC" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) ranked as the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and 25-54 (1.4). "Dateline" grew +22% week to week in adult 18-49 rating (1.1 vs. 0.9) and +7% in total viewers (5.1 million vs. 4.7 million), to equal its highest Friday rating in 18-49 in nearly four months (since April 3, 1.2) and generate its biggest Friday overall audience in seven weeks (since June 12 (5.2 million). L+7: Friday's "Dateline" is increasing by an average of +26% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.15 to a 1.45) and 959,000 viewers overall (5.8 million to 6.8 million) going from L+SD to L+7. Upscale: The prior Friday's "Dateline NBC" was the top upscale Big 4 program of the night among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (108 index) and with four or more years of college (105 index).

For the night, NBC ranked #1 among the Big 4 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key measures.

Saturday

An encore telecast of "Running Wild with Bear Grylls" (0.3/1 in 18-49, 1.3 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) tied for #2 in the slot among the Big 4 in adults 18-49 and tied for #1 among those nets in women 18-34.

"Aquarius" (0.2/1 in 18-49, 1.2 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) matched the prior week's rating in adults 18-49 and increased week to week in adults 18-34 and all key adult-female demos. L+3: The prior week's "Aquarius" grew by +67% going from L+SD to L+3 (0.21 to 0.35) and by 641,000 viewers overall (1.2 million to 1.8 million). L+7: "Aquarius," which had been available for binge viewing of all episode online through its first four weeks, is growing by an average of +48% in 18-49 rating (from a 0.65 to a 0.96) and 1.3 million viewers overall (3.4 million to 4.7 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

"Hannibal" (0.3/1 in 18-49, 1.0 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) maintained its adult 18-49 rating of the prior two weeks and was up +7% week to week in total viewers (1.0 million vs. 958,000), making this its most-watched episode among three Saturday telecasts to date. L+3: The previous week's "Hannibal" increased by +39% going from L+SD to L+3 (0.33 to 0.46) and by 364,000 viewers overall (1.0 million to 1.3 million). L+7: "Hannibal" is increasing by an average of +60% in 18-49 rating (from a 0.43 to a 0.69) and 668,000 viewers overall (1.5 million to 2.2 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

Sunday

An encore telecast of "America's Got Talent: 10 Year Anniversary Special" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall from 7-9 p.m. ET) earned NBC's top rating in the time period in three weeks (since July 12, 0.7) and biggest overall audience in four weeks (since July 5, 3.3 million).

A rebroadcast of "American Ninja Warrior" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) grew +29% versus the prior week's encore in this time period in 18-49 (0.9 vs. 0.7) and +36% in total viewers (3.4 million vs. 2.5 million). The "Ninja" rebroadcast tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks in the two-hour time period in adults 18-49 and was #1 outright among those nets for its second hour from 10-11 p.m.
