Deadline.com reports that NBC has ordered a thriller drama off-cycle pilot from producer Jerry Bruckheimer. THE SECRET LIVES OF HUSBANDS AND WIVES, an hour-long project written by Sascha Penn, will be produced by Penn, and Warner Bros TV.

The pilot is based on Josie Brown's 2010 novel of love, friendhip and infidelity within a suburban California community. It is described as a "thriller/dramatic soap that centers on a murder and the secrets and lies within a tightly woven group of three couples and their families exposed in its aftermath." Penn, Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman will executive produce, with KristieAnne Reed co-executive producing.

Last year, Bruckheimer TV teamed with NBC on a Dwayne Johnson produced drama based on the 1980's world of pro wrestling. Bruckheimer's best known television series include CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Without a Trace, Cold Case, and The Amazing Race. His film work include Beverly Hills Cop, Flashdance, Top Gun, The Rock, Con Air, Armageddon, Bad Boys, Enemy of the State, Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the National Treasure franchise.
