Deadline writes that Moises Arias is the latest actor to join the cast of Timur Bekmambetov's remake of BEN-HUR for MGM and Paramount Pictures. Jack Huston stars in the title role.

The screenplay, originally written by Keith Clarke (The Way Back), with revisions by Academy Award-winner John Ridley (12 Years A Slave), is based on Lew Wallace's 1880 epic novel Ben-Hur: A Tale Of The Christ.

The film returns to the heart of Lew Wallace's epic novel focusing on the nature of faith. The story follows a falsely accused nobleman who survives years of slavery to take vengeance on his best friend who betrayed him. Both must come to choose between retribution or forgiveness.

Also in the cast are Morgan Freeman, Toby Kebbell, Olivia Cooke and Ayelet Zurer. Rodrigo Santoro is in talks to play Jesus Christ.

Arias will play 'Gestas', described as "a teenage Jewish zealot whose family has been murdered by the Romans, who is desperate to fight for his people's freedom."

Arias has appeared on the big screen in The Kings of Summer, Ender's Game and Despicable Me 2. His TV credits include Hannah Montana and The Wizards of Waverly Place. He will next be seen in Stanford Prison Experiment.

BEN-HUR is set for release on February 26, 2016.
