The project is almost complete. The most-decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps, will face a surprise "Gold Medal Showdown" on the golf course with a foursome of former Olympic gold medalists on the season finale of THE HANEY PROJECT, airing Monday, April 29, at 9 p.m. ET on Golf Channel.

Since his first session with renowned swing coach Hank Haney six months ago, Phelps has traveled the globe - from Mexico to China and across the U.S. - in search of a better golf game and lower scores. For this final episode, the two meet for a two-day session just outside Palm Springs, Calif., at The Madison Club.

On day one, Phelps is promised a surprise, but first must face another one of Haney's famous practice range sessions, complete with a slow-motion camera to gauge the progress Phelps has Made since their first meeting. After the lesson, Phelps invites Haney to the pool at The Madison Club where he has a surprise of his own waiting - a swim challenge. The student, Phelps, turned the table several times during the series to become the teacher, offering swimming tips to Haney. With Haney Project alum Ray Romano making a cameo appearance, Haney goes all out in two races against the clock.

After yet another range session on the final day of the season, Phelps discovers his surprise will be a "Gold Medal Showdown" where he will play with and against former Olympic gold medal winners in a series of four competitions for unique prizes. The guest list starts with two champions from the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, Canada - boxer Sugar Ray Leonard and the charismatic former decathlete Bruce Jenner. Also joining the group is captain of the 1980 U.S. Hockey "Miracle on Ice" team, Mike Eruzione, and two-time snowboarding gold medalist Seth Wescott.

Olympic storytelling and trash talking aside, the competition featured some great shot-making and a critical 10-foot putt for glory. The weekend concludes with a wrap party, where toasts are held high in remembrance of a season of highs and lows, and Phelps' admission that he originally thought he would never complete The Haney Project.

The Haney Project with Michael Phelps joins the popular interview series, Feherty (10 p.m. ET), rounding out an entertainment-packed Monday primetime lineup of original series on Golf Channel.
