This May, Animal Planet was a beast, crushing the competition, and devouring ratings with its second annual Monster Week. The network achieved its most-watched month ever in prime among key demos, including 361K P25-54, 344K P18-49, 200K M25-54 and 185K M18-49.

In May, Animal Planet ranked 15th among all ad-supported cable networks based on M25-54 delivery, marking its fifth consecutive month of placing as a top-20 network. The network also earned its best-ever May prime delivery, including 775K P2+ viewers.

Monster Week scored its most-watched week ever in prime with 1.1M P2+ viewers and in both prime and total day among other major demos, including HH (743K, 428K) and M25-54 (295K, 154K). This record achievement was buoyed by MERMAIDS: THE NEW EVIDENCE, which delivered a record 3.6M P2+ viewers and ranks as Animal Planet's most-watched telecast of all time.

"May introduced new series and stunts, including ICE COLD GOLD and SWAMP'D, as well as Monster Week, where viewers confronted their fears head on in record numbers," says Rick Holzman, senior Vice president of programming and scheduling for Animal Planet. "I expect the momentum to carry Animal Planet well into summer when we premiere Treehouse Masters and Top Hooker and bring back Call of the Wildman and TOO CUTE!"
