Local celebrity meteorologist, and professional vocalist, Marina Jurica, will bid farewell to Central Florida, as she heads to California, with a solo cabaret at The Winter Park Playhouse titled "I'll Be Seeing You - A Farewell" scheduled for Friday November 4. Playhouse Musical Director Christopher Leavy will accompany on piano.

Currently, Marina is the weekend meteorologist at WFTV Channel 9, but is leaving the area to become a Chief Meteorologist at the CBS affiliate station in Fresno, California. This is a prestigious move for Ms. Jurica as there are less than a dozen female chief meteorologists in the nation. It will also include a return home to where Ms. Jurica has family members living.

In addition to her television career, Marina is no stranger to professional performance on stage. She was the original Cosette in the first Canadian tour of Les Miserables and has been performing ever since. Ms. Jurica graduated from UCLA with two degrees- one in Opera Performance and the other in Meteorology.

Ms. Jurica has been fortunate to pursue both of her passions. She has performed on stage all over the country on stage, in shows such as Beauty and the Beast, Crazy For You, Oliver!, Jekyll and Hyde, The Student Prince and The King and I. All in principle roles. Additionally, she has performed with The Orlando Philharmonic and The Winter Park Playhouse where she debuted her first cabaret, Love and The Weather, a few months ago.

In her farewell cabaret, I'll Be Seeing You - A Farewell, at The Winter Park Playhouse, Marina will treat the audience to selections ranging from musical theatre, to opera and standards. General admission tickets are $20 plus a one drink minimum. Once sold out, a limited number of "Standing Room Only" tickets are available for $10. Seating is limited so advance reservations are strongly recommended. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a 7:30 p.m. show. Tickets sell out quickly so call The Winter Park Playhouse box office for tickets at 407-645-0145 or purchase online at www.winterparkplayhouse.org.
