MTV's 'New Year's Bash 2011' to Provide Comedic Look Back at Year

MTV announced today the premiere of a live 90 minute special, "New Year's Bash 2011" that will provide a comedic look back at 2010, as well as an extended sneak peek of the forthcoming season of Jersey Shore. Hosted by comedian and rising star Whitney Cummings, the special will feature appearances by members of the cast of Jersey Shore, "Saturday Night Live's" Bobby Moynihan, comedian Nick Kroll, Internet sensation Keenan Cahill, plus two performances from hip-hop artist Flo Rida. The special will debut live on MTV and MTV2 from MTV's Times Square Studio on December 31 at 10:30pm ET (tape delay PT).

MTV's "New Year's Bash 2011" will celebrate the people, moments and events that dominated the headlines in 2010. Hosted by comedian Whitney Cummings, the special will feature a myriad of comedians who will provide their unique and hilarious perspectives on the year in music, television, internet, relationships and more.

"I can't wait to host MTV's New Years Eve Bash!," said Whitney Cummings. "It's going to be so fun to party with the Jersey Shore and rip on all things 2010. I'm gonna get some really good tweets."

Whitney will be joined outside by the hosts of MTV's afternoon show The Seven, Kevin Manno & Julie Alexandria, along with members of the cast of Jersey Shore, who will not only work to entice the crowds of Times Square to set the Guinness World Record for the most people fist pumping, but also introduce an extended first look at the upcoming third season which returns on January 6. In addition, Pauly D will serve as the house DJ. Hip hop sensation Flo Rida will perform two songs, including his smash hit single "Club Can't Handle Me." Slightly before midnight, MTV viewers will watch Snooki as she is lowered in a ball to MTV's rooftop deck to ring in the New Year.

"This year's show will push boundaries and provide fans with a diversified content experience that fuses comedy, music and pop culture."
