MSNBC to Present Live Coverage of 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MARCH ON WASHINGTON

MSNBC will present special coverage of the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington live from the National Mall on Friday, August 23 and Saturday, August 24. The coverage will begin with a special two-hour "PoliticsNation: March on Washington: The Dream Continues" hosted by Reverend Al Sharpton.

The two-hour "PoliticsNation: March on Washington: The Dream Continues" special will air from 6-8PM ET live from the National Mall. Guests will include Representative John Lewis, Martin Luther King III, Bernice King, Taylor Branch, Myrlie Evers-Williams, Edith Lee-Payne, Marc Morial as well as key union leaders and marchers both past and present.

On Saturday, August 24, Reverend Sharpton and MLK III will lead the 50th Anniversary March on Washington from the National Mall. MSNBC will provide live coverage Saturday beginning at 8AM ET and continuing with "Melissa Harris Perry" at 10AM ET, "Disrupt" with Karen Finney at 2PM ET and "The Ed Show" with Ed Schultz at 4PM ET all live from Washington DC.

Throughout the weekend, MSNBC anchors and correspondents will share their own reflections on the civil rights movement and how they or people from their communities are 'Advancing the Dream'. Marchers and observers along the march route are encouraged to share their own thoughts and photos related to 'Advancing the Dream' using the Twitter hash tag #AdvancingtheDream.
