MSNBC Announces State of the Union Coverage

MSNBC's continuing coverage and analysis of President Obama's State of the Union Address and the Republican response from Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) will begin at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, January 28. Coverage will be hosted by Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews joined by Chris Hayes, Reverend Al Sharpton and MSNBC contributor Steve Schmidt. Ed Schultz will be live from Washington DC.

Chris Matthews will anchor an additional live hour of coverage from 12 a.m. - 1 a.m. ET.

MSNBC.com will be live streaming the SOTU at http://www.msnbc.com/state-of-the-union-2014.

MSNBC is also asking viewers to contribute their SOTU thoughts by finishing the President's yearly iconic statement "The State of the Union is____________." Viewers can submit photos and video responses via Facebook, or on Twitter, Instagram, or Vine using #SOTUis. MSNBC will be sharing the images and messages on-air and via social media.
