MOESHA Star Yvette Wilson Dies at 48

USA Today reports that Yvette Wilson, best known for her starring role in the UPN series MOESHA has died at age 48. The actress and comedian had been fighting stage 4 cervical cancer and kidney disease.

'Moesha' co-star Shar Jackson posted on her Twitter account last night, "I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but god has chosen to take my sister Yvette home.. ... "

Wilson was best known for her role as Andell Wilkerson on  Moesha and its spinoff The Parkers. She has appeared in many comedy films such as House Party 2, House Party 3, Friday, and on Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam.
