In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, First Lady nominee Ann Romney revealed that her favorite show on TV is ABC's MODERN FAMILY. That came as a surprise to many due to the fact that the sitcom predominantly features a gay couple, Mitch and Cam. Mrs. Romney has gone on record that she does not believe in marriage equality and in 2002, signed a petition that supported a constitutional amendment to ban both gay marriage and domestic partner benefits in Massachusetts.

In response to the shout out from Romney, Modern Family co-creator Steve Levitan jokingly posted on his Twitter page yesterday: “Thrilled Ann Romney says ModFam is her favorite show. We’ll offer her the role of officiant at Mitch & Cam’s wedding. As soon as it’s legal.”

On Modern Family, three unique families give viewers an honest and often hilarious look into the sometimes warm, sometimes twisted, embrace of the modern family. The series stars Ed O’Neill as Jay, Julie Bowen as Claire, Ty Burrell as Phil, Sofía Vergara as Gloria, Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mitchell, Eric Stonestreet as Cameron, Sarah Hyland as Haley, Nolan Gould as Luke, Ariel Winter as Alex, Rico Rodriguez as Manny and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons as Lily.

The series is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television in association with Levitan Lloyd Productions. Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd are executive producers/creators.
