Hollywood Reporter reports that Terry O'Quinn is headed to Amazon, joining the cast of Amazon Studio's pilot, THE PATRIOT. O'Quinn will star alongside Michael Dorman (The Water Diviner) as John Allerton and Kurtwood Smith (That 70's Show) as Mr. Claret.

Written and directed by Steve Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness), THE PATRIOT is a dramedy centered around the Allerton family. O'Quinn will portray Tom Allerton, a director of intelligence at the State Department and father of undercover spy John Allerton and congressman Edward Allerton.

Amazon is currently trying to make their way into producing and releasing original shows as well as streaming other content, similar to an alternate streaming company, Netflix. THE PATRIOT is one of several pilots currently in development at Amazon, including a legal drama titled THE TRAIL and and period drama THE GOOD GIRLS REVOLT. Amazon has recently released two pilots for rating and viewing, Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) produced SNEAKY PETE and Diego Luna's CASANOVA. If these pilots are picked up, they will be available for subscribers of Amazon Prime Instant Video.

This fall, Amazon will premiere four shows, including the second season of TRANSPARENT and the first season of THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE.
