According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress Lindsay Lohan is currently in talks to portray legendary movie star Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming biopic for the Lifetime network.

The TV film has been in the works since last May and will be produced by Larry Thompson, who previously worked with Lifetime on the 2010 movie 'Amish Grace'. Lohan has often been compared to film icon Elizabeth Taylor as both were former child models who became actresses and who had seen their fair share of career setbacks.

Lohan's previous film credits include Disney's 'The Parent Trap', 'Freaky Friday', 'Mean Girls' and 'Herbie: Fully Loaded'. In recent years, much of her time has been spent combating a series of legal issues which has led to court-ordered therapy and community service. The actress spent a brief period in jail but was quickly released due to overcrowded conditions.

Lohan recently posed for the January/February issue of Playboy for which she was paid a reported $1 million.
