While Americans appeared to have taken a break from the movies this Thanksgiving Day, studios are hopeful that 'Black Friday' will prove to be a record-breaking day at the box office. According to Deadline.com, one studio executive predicts, "Friday grosses will be huge and the best grossing day of the weekend," while another promised, "This weekend has a chance to break the record."
Twentieth Century Fox's 3D Life Of Pi was one of the few films to show an increase in earnings between Wednesday and Friday.
