Kristin Chenoweth in Talks to Join Jennifer Lopez for Upcoming Thriller THE BOY NEXT DOOR

Kristin Chenoweth may team up with Jennifer Lopez for Blumhouse's next fright fest.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Broadway vet is currently in talks to join the studio's upcoming thriller THE BOY NEXT DOOR. Rob Cohen will direct, featuring a script by Barbara Curry.

In THE BOY NEXT DOOR, Lopez is set to play a "newly separated mother who finds herself attracted to the teenage boy who moves in next door and befriends her son. When she starts and then abruptly ends their illicit romance, he's not ready to let her go in a very Fatal Attraction kind of way." Chenoweth will take on the role of her best friend.

Blumhouse Productions is just coming off of its increasingly successful INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2, and has also lined up Aaron Eckhart to star in its next horror flick INCARNATE.

Best known on-stage for creating the role of Glinda in the original Broadway production of Wicked (2003), which tells the untold story of the Witches of Oz, Kristin Chenoweth is one of Broadway's most celebrated stars. Most recently, Chenoweth starred opposite Sean Hayes from TV's Will & Grace in the Broadway revival of Promises, Promises (2010), a 1960s musical by Burt Bacharach and Hal David which features the hit songs I'll Never Fall in Love and I Say a Little Prayer.

On-screen, Kristin Chenoweth has appeared in many television and film roles, including The West Wing as Annabeth Schott and Pushing Daisies as Olive Snook. Putting her musical talents to good use, Chenoweth has guest judged on American Idol and guest starred on musical TV show Glee as April Rhodes. Last year, Chenoweth starred as the antagonist in GCB, a series based on the novel Good Christian Bitches by Kim Gatlin.

INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2 followed the haunted Lambert family as they seek to uncover the mysterious childhood secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world. Opening last weekend, the film grossed over $41 million.
