ESPN's College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will make a memorable stop in Columbia, S.C., this Saturday, Sept. 27 (9 a.m. - noon ET), ahead of the Missouri at No. 13 South Carolina SEC matchup (7 p.m. on ESPN). Eight-time Entertainer of the Year country music artist Kenny Chesney, whose new album THE BIG REVIVAL was released Tuesday, Sept. 23, will perform his No. 1 Country single "American Kids" acoustic during his appearance on GameDay as the show's guest picker.

Chesney served as guest picker previously when GameDay visited Knoxville, Tenn., in 2012. He is the first musician to guest pick this season.

Lee Fitting, senior coordinating producer, ESPN, said, "We are constantly looking for ways to engage our audience as well as the fans who turn out for GameDay and give us three hours of their energy and attention. I'm pretty sure a live performance in the Horseshoe by one of the biggest names in music, Kenny Chesney, will achieve that goal."

"There are few things as exciting as a college town when there's a big football game," Chesney said. "I love that energy! And being part of something you can bet I watch every week makes College GameDay even more fun. I'm getting ready to make those calls... and I'm bringing a couple of my guys for a real special 'American Kids'."

THE BIG REVIVAL

Chesney's very hands-on approach on his 15th studio album features guest appearances by Grace Potter, Dan Tyminski and Alison Krauss, as well as the most diverse collection of influences to date. Rolling Stone wrote THE BIG REVIVAL "continuously brings a sense of musical energy and emotional urgency," while Billboard offered, "captures the zeitgeist of American youth in a way John Mellencamp once owned."
