Julia Roberts Will Not Return for Season Two of HOMECOMING

Julia Roberts will not star in season two of Amazon's "Homecoming," according to Variety.

Roberts will continue to executive produce the series, however. "Homecoming" was picked up for two seasons when it was initially ordered at Amazon. Roberts only signed a one-year deal to star on the show, however.

"Homecoming" is an adaptation of the fiction podcast of the same name from Gimlet Media. It is about staffers at a secret government agency where some are desperate to rejoin civilian life. The political thriller centers on a caseworker (Roberts) at a secret government facility, her supervisor and a soldier.

The show was written by "Mr. Robot" creator Sam Esmail. It also stars Bobby Cannavale, Stephan James, Hong Chau and Shea Whigham. There is no word yet if any of these stars will be returning for the second season.
