According to The Hollywood Reporter, Broadway-bound Jessica Chastain has just signed on to lend her voice in the upcoming animated film from DreamWorks, MADAGASCAR 3: Europe's Most Wanted.

Chastain will join previously announced cast members Bryan Cranston, star of 'Breaking Bad', comedian Martin Short and actress Frances McDormand. Original castmembers Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith and Sacha Baron Cohen will reprise their roles in the upcoming film.

Chastain will voice a new character to the franchise, 'Gia' the jaguar. Cranston will play a Siberian tiger and Short will voice a sea lion named 'Stefano'. The film is being directed by Eric Darnell and Conrad Vernon.

According to an announcement made last Friday, the plot of the film involves "Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo and Melman the Giraffe who are still fighting to get home to their beloved Big Apple, and of course, King Julien, Maurice and the Penguins are all along for the comedic adventure. Their journey takes them through Europe, where they find the perfect cover: a traveling circus, which they reinvent - Madagascar-style."

The movie is set to be released in theaters on June 8, 2012.
