Jesse Eisenberg to Join Cast of THE DOUBLE

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actors Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska will be starring in Richard Ayoade's upcoming comedy THE DOUBLE. Based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novella, the film is set to begin shooting in the late spring or early summer of 2012.

THE DOUBLE will tell the story of an ordinary man who is driven to madness by the appearance of his 'doppelganger'.

The project will Ayoade's second time out as director. He made his directorial debut in the film 'Submarine'. He is best known in the UK for TV shows such as The Mighty Boosh and The IT Crowd and will appear in the upcoming sci-fi comedy 'Neighborhood Watch' starring Ben Stiller and Vince Vaugh.

Jesse Eisenberg starred in the Academy Award winning film 'The Social Network' in 2010.
