GSN, the leader in game shows and competitive entertainment, announced today that BAGGAGE ON THE ROAD - a new, 20-episode traveling version of the network's hit series "Baggage" - will debut tonight, January 7 at 9:00pm ET/PT. Jerry Springer, original host of "Baggage," will also host the new series, which travels in its first season to four locations: Austin, Texas; Tampa, Florida; Baton Rouge, Louisiana (at Louisiana State University) and Storrs, Connecticut (at University of Connecticut).
BAGGAGE ON THE ROAD is a half-hour comedic dating game show where one contestant chooses from three potential partners, all of whom come with their own quirky, annoying and sometimes truly shocking physical and emotional "baggage" that could eliminate them from the competition. With Springer guiding the fun, contestants will be required to reveal the various intimate secrets and hidden flaws - housed inside literal suitcases - that typically aren't revealed on a first date. Eventually, only one suitor will win a date with the contestant... as long as that person can also accept the contestant's BAGGAGE in a final role-reversal round. Jerry Springer, host of BAGGAGE ON THE ROAD has become a cultural and civic icon. In addition to being the host of "The JERRY SPRINGER Show," now in its 24th season, Springer has been a political pundit, lawyer, Emmy(R) Award-winning newscaster, country recording artist, international emcee and TV personality. He has been in movies and on Broadway (starring in productions of Chicago in London and New York). He's been a progressive talk-radio broadcaster who also won America's heart with his ballroom dancing on "Dancing With the Stars." The son of Holocaust survivors, Springer holds a law degree from Northwestern University, and is a political activist who worked on Robert Kennedy's presidential campaign and served as mayor of Cincinnati for two terms. Springer has also hosted "America's Got Talent" in primetime on NBC.Videos
