According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jeremy Renner will star opposite Amy Adams in Denis Villeneuve's upcoming sci-fi film STORY OF YOUR LIFE.

Adapted from a short story by TED Chiang, STORY OF YOUR LIFE "is set in motion when alien crafts land around the world, and an expert linguist, to be played by Adams, is recruited by the military to determine whether they come in peace or are a threat. As she learns to communicate with the aliens, she begins experiencing vivid flashbacks that become the key to unlocking the greater mystery about the true purpose of their visit." Eric Heisserer wrote the script.

Renner's character is "a physics professor paired by the government with the linguist to help communicate with the aliens."

The actor will soon be seen in THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 5 and CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR. Among Renner's recent film credits are KILL THE MESSENGER, AMERICAN HUSTLE, THE IMMIGRANT, THE BOURNE LEGACY, THOR, THE TOWN and more.
