As first reported on Deadline.com, James Gandolfini will join his former 'Sopranos' co-stars in the upcoming Nickelodeon movie NICKY DEUCE. The actor will make a cameo appearance in the film which is based on Soprano's scripe Steve Schirripa's children's book. Schriripa will also produce and star in the film.

Production on Nicky Deuce is currently underway in Montreal. The cast features former 'Soprano' cast members Michael Imperioli, Tony Sirico and Vincent Curatola. The film follows Nicholas Borelli II, (Noah Munck), described as "a nerdy, over-protected teen who gets caught in the adventure of a lifetime when he is sent to Brooklyn, NY to spend the summer with an uncle (Schirripa) and other members of his Italian American family he never knew he had." Eventually, Nicky uncovers family secrets and learns the hard way about life on the streets of Brooklyn.

Gandolfini, who filmed his role this past weekend, will portray Bobby Eggs, described as "a two-bit guy from the neighborhood who gets unintentionally "scrambled" by the young Nicky (Munck)."

Nicky Deuce is scheduled to premiere next year on Nickelodeon and Canada's YTV.
