Is a STAR WARS Burn Out Possible? 'The Last Jedi' Falls Short of 'The Force Awakens'

According to Showbiz 411, the new Star Wars film "The Last Jedi" scored $45 million in preview shows around the US, making it the second highest Thursday preview opening behind "The Force Awakens," which did $57 million two years ago.

But between there was "Rogue One" which only made $29 million in its Thursday preview last year.

So is a Star Wars burn out possible, with movies three years in a row? Could be.

Disney/Lucas films is hoping for a $200 million plus blockbuster weekend that breaks all records, but that seems like a stretch considering that "Jedi" is currently running 25% behind "Force."
