Dylan, by Emmy Award-winning director, Elizabeth Rohrbaugh, brings much needed attention to the T in LGBT. The important short film was released online in June, in honor of LGBT PRIDE month.

Based on an interview with childhood friend, Dylan Winn Garner, this poignant piece takes the viewer through the personal journey of a transgender man. It looks at his exploration into the transgender community, his family's acceptance of his new identity and ultimately his physical and emotional transformation. In less than 9 minutes the film shows how Dylan literally shed the layers that had been weighing him down for so many years and how he found freedom in self love and acceptance.

Rohrbaugh hopes that Dylan can show transgender individuals, (particularly youth), who may be struggling, that they are not alone in this process and that what is waiting for them on the other side is worth it. With transgender rights and issues currently so prominent in the media, highlighting/featuring this piece can help bring more understanding and positive dialog in both the LGBT and heteronormative communities.
