IDOL Feud Heats Up as Minaj Tweets Carey is 'Bitter' and 'Insecure'

What do you get when you put two of the music industry's biggest divas together at the same judge's table? Nothing pretty! After a full season of heated tension between American Idol judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, a new round of mutual animosity has begun.

Minaj fueled the fire by tweeting a series of insults at her co-judge, regarding a recent report that producers had considered a midseason ploy of replacing Carey with last year's Idol judge Jennifer Lopez. The ill feelings continued Wednesday night when Minaj opposed Carey's critique of Angie Miller's performance. The exchange caused Carey to comment that Minaj had never even had a number one single on the Billboard Hot 100.

Within hours, Minaj took to Twitter, posting: "All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol. I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that." She added "What u SHOULD be doing (wit your messy ass) is asking why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter."

Carey chose not to respond to the insulting post and instead maintained a cold demeanor toward Minaj during last night's results show.
