HBO to Offer Self-Harm and Substance Abuse Support Along with SHARP OBJECTS

The eight-episode limited drama series SHARP OBJECTS debuts this SUNDAY, JULY 8 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO.

Due to the sensitive nature of the show's content, the final version will have an end card pointing viewers to additional support:

If you or someone you know struggles with self-harm or substance abuse, please seek help by contacting the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), 1-800-662-HELP (4357)

Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Gillian Flynn, SHARP OBJECTS stars Amy Adams as reporter Camille Preaker, who returns to her small hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. Trying to put together a psychological puzzle from her past, she finds herself identifying with the young victims a bit too closely.

Patricia Clarkson, Chris Messina, Eliza Scanlen, Elizabeth Perkins and Matt Craven also star, as well as Henry Czerny, Taylor John Smith, Sophia Lillis and Madison Davenport.

SHARP OBJECTS is an Entertainment One (eOne) and Blumhouse Television production. Jean-Marc Vallée directs all episodes and co-edits the series. Marti Noxon serves as the showrunner and writes several episodes, as does Gillian Flynn. The executive producers are Jason Blum, Charles Layton and Jessica Rhoades, as well as Amy Adams, Gillian Flynn, Marti Noxon, Jean-Marc Vallée, Nathan Ross and Gregg Fienberg.
