HBO and Tom Hanks to Reunite on College Athlete Comedy

According to the Hollywood Reporter, actor Tom Hanks and his long time producing partner Gary Goetzman will be developing a half-hour comedy for HBO titled PLAYERS, which will follow the lives of college athletes.  James Evans and Darryl Scott will serve as producers on the project.

Hanks has previously worked with HBO on the successful miniseries "Band of Brothers", "John Adams" and "The Pacific".  All three shows garnered Emmy awards.  Hanks was also behind HBO's successful drama "Big Love".
