SYFY today announced that DEADLY CLASS, based on the graphic novel of the same name by co-creators Rick Remender and Wes Craig, has been picked up to pilot. From Sony Pictures Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions, the graphic novel was adapted to television by executive producers Remender and Miles Feldsott. Joe Russo ("The Avengers," "Captain America"), Anthony Russo ("The Avengers," "Captain America") and Mike Larocca ("Spy") from Russo Brothers Productions and Adam Targum ("Banshee") from Chipmunk Hill will also executive produce along with Lee Toland Krieger ("The Age of Adaline"). Targum will serve as showrunner and Kreiger will direct.

DEADLY CLASS follows a disillusioned teen recruited into a storied high school for assassins. Maintaining his moral code while surviving a ruthless curriculum, VICIOUS social cliques, and his own adolescent uncertainties may prove fatal. Set against the backdrop of late 80s counter culture, DEADLY CLASS is a coming of age journey unlike anything you've ever seen.

DEADLY CLASS joins previously announced projects in development at Syfy including NIGHTFLYERS, a pilot based on author George R.R. Martin's novella, TREMORS, from the 1990 film of the same name starring Kevin Bacon and THE PURGE, based on the popular film franchise and set to air on both USA and SYFY.
