'Given Our Chance,' Inspiring Documentary from Alex King and Izidor Ruckel: Announcing It's Release

"Given Our Chance" gives a voice to Adoption through Film.

Two Romanian adoptees joined forces last year to film their documentary "Given Our Chance." Izidor Ruckel of Ruckel International and Alex King of A.K. Film Production and Editing met last October and began their documentary about adoption. It is now completed and available.

Alex and Izidor were both adopted from Romania. Both men grew up with passion to help those children left behind. They learned from their adoptive families that all children have worth and a purpose in life. Their vision was to share their stories so that people all over could hear the voice of adoptees.

With October being National Disability Awareness month and November being Adoption Awareness month, this is the perfect time for "Given Our Chance" to have it's official release. "Given Our Chance" focuses on the benefits of adoption, including those children with disabilities. You realize that both men have never forgotten those children left behind in Romania.

Izidor Ruckel was adopted at age eleven by a family in California. He would pen his autobiography, titled "Abandoned for Life," in 2003. He is an active advocate for adoption and continues as a public speaker on the subject.

Alex King was adopted when he was almost six, also by a California couple. Artistic since he came to the U.S., he found his passion in filmmaking at his community college. He has two prior documentaries. His first was a documentary short titled "A Special Story about a Special Man, my Grandpa" about his WWII grandfather. His second was a feature documentary titled "Born To Be Our Children, Romanian Adoption Stories," which was honored with numerous awards.
