Geraldine Viswanathan Joins Hugh Jackman in Upcoming Automatik Film BAD EDUCATION

Following her breakout role in the comedy "Blockers," newcomer Geraldine Viswanathan is set to co-star with Hugh Jackman in the Automatik film "Bad Education" Variety reports.

Allison Janney is also involved in the project along with "I Think We're Alone Now" writer Mike Makowsky who penned the script. The film will be directed by Thoroughbreds director, Cory Finley.

Plot details are being kept under wraps but the film is mostly based on Makowsky's high school experience.

"La La Land" producer Fred Berger and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatik will produce alongside Eddie Vaisman, Julia Lebedev, and Oren Moverman of Sight Unseen. Makowsky is also producing the pic, which begins production in October.

Viswanathan gained attention in the role of Kayla in the film Blockers. Refinery29 has referred to her as "the film's breakout star." She had previously appeared in Emo the Musical. She plays Eliza, a worker in Heaven, as a regular in the 2018 sitcom Miracle Workers, working alongside Steve Buscemi and Daniel Radcliffe. She cites the TV show Friends as an influence, with Anne Hathaway inspiring certain acting techniques.
