FOX Network's new prequel series GOTHAM has already introduced us to four well-known villains from the world of Batman, and it looks like another infamous villain is set to show up soon.

A few familiar names to have already shown up in the series include mobsters Carmine Falcone and Salvatore Maroni, serial killer Victor Zsasz, and perhaps the most well known: 'Two-Face' Harvey Dent. Mr. Freeze is set to show up in the near future.

But now, according to Dark Horizons, it looks like Gotham City's master of fear Jonathan Crane, aka The Scarecrow, will be making an appearance as well.

Executive producer Danny Cannon revealed this past weekend at Comikaze that The Scarecrow will be making an appearance on Gotham, but this time, as a young child.

Via Zap2It: 'We're breaking the story now, the villain will be seen as a child, before he takes on the Scarecrow moniker. In fact, it's something that will be passed on to him from his father, which will create an eventual enemy for Batman while still having an adversary for Jim Gordon.'

Most recently, and perhaps most famously, The Scarecrow appeared in 2005's Batman Begins, and was portrayed by Cillian Murphy.

About GOTHAM:
Based upon characters published by DC Entertainment and produced by Warner Bros. Television, GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. Starring Ben McKenzie ('Southland,' 'The O.C.'), Donal Logue ('Sons of Anarchy,' 'Terriers,' 'Vikings,' 'Copper') and Jada Pinkett Smith ('The Matrix' films, 'HawthoRNe'), GOTHAM follows one cop's rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time.

Executive producer Bruno Heller ('The Mentalist') wrote the pilot, which was directed and executive-produced by Emmy Award nominee Danny Cannon (the 'CSI' franchise, 'Nikita'). John Stephens will serve as an executive producer on the series.
