Episode 3 of 'The Rockettes Summer Intensive' Airs Tonight, May 20

The third episode of MSG Varsity's Emmy award-winning hit series "The Rockettes Summer Intensive" will go on the road, visiting six of the twelve dancers in their hometowns throughout the tri-state area. The six dancers will discover in this episode whether they have been selected for The Rockettes Summer Intensive camp. The episode is slated to air tonight, May 20th at 9:00 p.m. on MSG Varsity, Optimum channel 14.

The six dancers featured in the third episode are: Sharon Bownes from West Islip High School, Lauren Karow from Pascack Valley High School, Joanna Keating from Garden City High School, Amanda Krohn from Howell High School, Raquel Rosario from St. Catherine Academy in the Bronx and Eleni Gavalas from Manhasset High School. Joining them will be a veteran dancer from last season, who will receive some exciting news.

In this third episode of "The Rockettes Summer Intensive," cameras follow the dancers as they leave auditions behind and return home. Viewers will get a glimpse at what life is like for these aspiring dancers as cameras document their everyday lives- visiting their high schools, dance studios and local establishments. In addition, cameras will take viewers inside the girls' homes to get to know the families behind the dancers and will watch as they find out whether they made the cut and will be taking part in The Rockettes Summer Intensive training program.

"While auditions are a major part of The Rockettes Summer Intensive, we wanted to also give viewers the opportunity to get a more behind-the-scenes look at these dancers' everyday lives. By meeting their families and friends, our audience will really be able to appreciate how much support it takes for these girls to achieve this dream of dancing alongside The Rockettes," said Michael Lardner, Senior Vice President and Executive Producer, MSG Varsity.

The Intensive is part of The Rockettes Dance Education program, which offers dancers the opportunity to study under The Rockettes and Rockettes Director/Choreographers and experience the athletic demands of their training. Acceptance in the program is a crucial stepping stone for Rockettes hopefuls who aspire to one day dance with the renowned company. Since The Rockettes Summer Intensive program began in 2001, 47 participants have gone on to become Rockettes.
