Electus Founder Ben Silverman to Receive Award of Excellence in Digital Innovation at Banff World Media Festival

The Banff World Media Festival (BANFF) is pleased to announce Ben Silverman, Founder and Chairman of Electus, will accept the 2014 Award of Excellence in Digital Innovation. Silverman is an Emmy and Golden Globe-winning executive producer of several hit TV series including The Office, Ugly Betty, The Biggest Loser, andthe upcoming Jane The Virgin and Marco Polo franchise as well as the movie Hands of Stone.

Electus integratesproducers, creators, distributors and advertisers to construct various forms of content across multiple platforms around the globe. Silverman's leading role in building digital content has contributed to the studio's primary comedy website, CollegeHumor. As the executive producer of several new series for Netflix, TNT, NBC, ABC, CMT and TV Land, he is also involved in numerous digital projects and partnerships with Yahoo!, Facebook and Google's YouTube.

"Finding innovative ways to monetize and distribute digital content and unlock creativity within the digital ecosystem have been among my foremost passions throughout my media career, and so I could not be more thrilled and honored to be receiving this prestigious award and I am very excited to be celebrating amongst such a distinguished community at BANFF," said Silverman.

Silverman will be honored at the star-studded Rockie Awards Gala, an internationally-acclaimed awards program celebrating the 'best-of-the-best' in international television and digital media content. Past recipients of the prestigious award include Co-Founders of VICE, Suroosh Alvi and Shane Smith, as well as Google.
