TVLine reports that Dennis Farina will guest star on FOX's NEW GIRL in the role of Nick's (Jake Johnson) father.

The actor will portray Walt Miller, described as "charming con-man father who suddenly reappears in his life. Nick, naturally, is highly suspicious about his pa’s impromptu visit. Jess and Winston, however, couldn’t be more delighted to meet the elder Miller."

Farina is best known for his film roles as Jimmy Serrano in the comedy Midnight Run and Ray "Bones" Barboni in Get Shorty. He starred on television as Detective Joe Fontana on Law & Order. His latest TV role is in HBO's Luck, which premiered on January 29, 2012.

The actor's guest starring role on "New Girl" will air in January.
